During this project, responsibility for all facets of development included initial site walk and suitability report in 1998, to the grand opening of all 18 holes in 2007. A majority of the site consisted of pine forested rolling terrain. The other portion contained a treeless, windswept piggery. The soils were ideal, consisting of well drained material that eased drainage concerns and provided the base for exceptionally firm and fast playing conditions. The course was designed with this foundation in mind as several holes emphasize playing the ball on the ground. This is especially true on the back nine holes. The 17th hole was named one of the most “Brutally Beautiful” by Jon Deere in a 2009 national competition.
