This infill project utilizes an abandoned concrete foundation along the Woonasquatucket bike path spur for a new plaza styled skateboard park. The project includes removal of invasive vegetation and installing concrete as the skate surface, while maintaining an existing concrete wall framework. Poured concrete will create a drop in and a step and ramp element within the circuit. Prefabricated skate park elements spine, pyramid, 1/2 pipe and two grinding steel edges from Skatewave are installed for user enjoyment. Only two cuts are made into the existing concrete to allow for circulation, while maintaining the concrete to emphasis the plaza styled skate park design.
